Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great this year!  However, it is not the same as the good old fashioned Thanksgivings I've always celebrated back in the country where they actually celebrate it (if that makes sense).  The weekend started off early with my cousin Jessica and her two friends Katie and Pawnee who came Wednesday night to stay for a week-long vacation (more on that soon)!  Because they would be here, I figured it would be easiest to do Thanksgiving at our apartment and invite some of the families that live in our complex over too.  I didn't realize that would mean fitting 23 people in my tiny 800 sq ft apartment :)  It was a "bring your own meat/dishes/utensils and a side to share" kind of a night.  Don't judge, our apartment only came with like 4 plates and 7 forks and turkey costs about $15 a pound.  Haha!  It turned out really great!  The food was delicious and the company even better!  We love our family away from home here in Grenada!

Living here, we have come to appreciate a lot of things you wouldn't think of.  Carpet, seasons, leaving a plate of cookies on the counter to enjoy (too many bugs here), good customer service and so much more.  Living here has been such an awesome experience and has helped me to see all the blessings I have in my life.  When you see a little boy who is as skinny as a rail digging through your apartment garbage cans for food, you realize how incredibly blessed you are.  Happy late Thanksgiving everyone!
